It has snowed here. Snow on snow on snow. We braved our way through the drifts to church and I sat tiredly in the pew, four rows from the front. And I am weary. I did not wear my church face today; the one with lip liner and some extra foundation and tidy hair. I didn’t try to suck in my tummy or smile much. I spoke to a few people, and my dear friend next to me in the pew made me giggle at one point, but basically, I was quiet. I am tired today.
Our sermon was about The Magi.
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
